Originally conceived in 1968 Gaetano Pesce’s ‘Up Chair’ is symbolic of woman as a prisoner to male prejudices, a message which has not diluted in the public discourse over the last half century. To herald it’s multi-faceted acclaim, an 8 meter high version of the Up Chair is to be installed reverently before the Duomo Cathedral throughout the duration of Salone del Mobile.
