Associated Press Chief Photographer for Asia, David Guttenfelder has recently been documenting the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, aka North Korea, where authorities have loosened strict policies about photojournalism. He has been one of the first photographers allowed to bring a smartphone inside the country, where a 3G network is now available for visitors, making these some of the first uncensored images from North Korea to have been posted direct to Instagram.
Magazine Just Something has published 41 of Guttenfelder’s images, which of course offer a side to country not seen by anyone following the DPRK’s own official Instagram feed.
