Pidapipó Pop Up at 3000acres Jewell Station Garden

Design - by Laura Phillips

Pidapipó is collaborating with urban beekeeper Honey Fingers, urban agriculturists 3000acres and creative agency triad Practice Studio Practice on Pollination a new flavour range that aims to educate people about urban beekeeping and the pollination process.

To celebrate Pollination, Pidapipó is holding a pop up ice-cream cart at the Jewell Station Garden at 15A Union Street, Brunswick on March 5, a secret garden oasis away from the bustle of the Sydney Road Festival.

From 24th February Pidapipó will release three limited edition flavours inspired by honey and flowers including Rose and Honey Nougat, Elderflower and Lychee (sorbetto) and Ricotta, Honey, Lemon and Lavender. Each flavour will be topped with organic edible flowers, honey and honeycomb from Pidapipó’s very own rooftop hives by Honey Fingers.

Customers can support the campaign by purchasing one of the exclusive three Pollination flavours, posting a photo of their gelato and edible flowers on Instagram with the hashtag #pidapipo and Pidapipó will donate 100 seedlings to 3000acres, Neometro community partner which transforms unused vacant land, grey nooks and crannies into community garden paradises.

The seedlings will be specifically planted at Neometro and 3000acres’ Jewell Station community garden in Brunswick. Each gelato will also come with their very own seedlings to take home and plant and help feed the bees.

“We have had Honey Fingers’ hives on our roof in Carlton since we opened, and have been working closely with Nic along the way. He taught me that nearly one-third of everything we eat is thanks to bees and the pollination of plants, and without them plants wouldn’t produce fruits or seeds” said Lisa Valmorbida of Pidapipó.

“Australia has a pretty healthy bee population, but it’s constantly threatened by a rapidly changing climate, exotic diseases and pesticides,” explained Nic Dowse aka Honey Fingers.

“It’s important that there is a good range of bee food in our city. You can help the bees and boost the availability of this tucker by planting bee friendly pollen and nectar producing flowers,” added Nic.

The creative geniuses at Practice Studio Practice have been in control of the all of the campaign artwork.

The Pidapipó and 3000acres pop up will be held at the Jewell Station Garden on March 5, at 15A Union Street, Brunswick.
