The Robin Boyd Foundation Launches The Boyd Circle

Iconic Australian architect Robin Boyd was one of the foremost pioneers for the Modernist Architectural Movement in Australia throughout his notable career which spanned two decades.  The Robin Boyd Foundation has recently stepped forward to pioneer a platform to promote and nurture good design in a way that aligns with Boyd’s profoundly influential ideology with particular relevance on pushing Australian design to meet the urban challenges it faces today. 

The Boyd Circle, led by eleven industry leaders (pictured above), unites Australia’s most visionary practitioners with the shared goal of raising funds for the preservation of Walsh Street, the house Boyd built for his family in the late 1950’s, and now home to the Foundation.  

Hosting a bold program of talks, open days and interactive events, The Boyd Circle will promote inclusive discussion and active public participation in design. Poetically continuing Boyd’s renown social commentary of his time, the Robin Boyd Foundation hopes to honour his remarkable legacy by raising funds to preserve the Walsh Street residence, while fostering design education through dynamic interaction that is accessible all Melburnians.
