This year marks the 30th edition of Euroluce which, every two years, celebrates the world of illumination. This festival of light is widely recognised as the global benchmark lighting exhibition, where you will find astounding technological innovation and design culture take centre stage in the world of lighting design. From sculptural residential treatments to immense commercial scale.
SaloneSatellite
SaloneSatellite – shining a spotlight on designers under 35 years of age.
Shining the spotlight on designers under 35 years age, SaloneSatellite is where the innovators of the international design scene are exhibited. With a focus on future spaces and the need to pre-empt the needs and functions of a our interior environments of tomorrow, this is the place to soak in the inspiration, relevance and timeless sophistication from some of the biggest forward thinkers of our time.
Repubblica del Design
Joining the famous ranks of the Brera Design District, Tortona, and the 5VIE, this year marks the establishment of a new design district for Salone del Mobile – Repubblica del Design. Collectively comprising 40 locations spread across the neighborhoods of Dergano and Bovisa, the focus here is on redesigning urban fragments and social regeneration. The relevance of the knowledge to be imparted and promoted throughout this area in the cities north renders it one not to miss.
Gaetano Pesce’s ‘Up’ Chair

Originally conceived in 1968 Gaetano Pesce’s ‘Up Chair’ is symbolic of woman as a prisoner to male prejudices, a message which has not diluted in the public discourse over the last half century. To herald it’s multi-faceted acclaim, an 8 meter high version of the Up Chair is to be installed reverently before the Duomo Cathedral throughout the duration of Salone del Mobile.
Local Design No. 4
LOCAL MILAN NO.4 will feature 44 Australian / New Zealand designers and will be the largest independent showcase of Australian design to date in Milan. With a vision to advance awareness and understanding of Australian design amongst a global audience, the exhibition of the designers’ work is heavily curated and stylised by Local Design’s Emma Elizabeth who invites guests to walk through these editorially arranged sets, that bring the collective of designers together to celebrate colour, texture and sound.
