Vivid's Reportage: Uncensored

Around the web - by Open Journal

Part of the immense Vivid Festival program in Sydney, Reportage Festival is a celebration of visual narrative, designed to raise awareness and understanding of documentary photography and the issues represented by the medium.

The program is centred around immersive large-scale outdoor projections of documentary photography from around the world.

Controversially, pictures from at least 18 of the 35 photographers selected for the exhibition have been pulled at the last minute, including those from international guests, as Destination NSW deemed the photos unsuitable for a public audience.

A gallery on smh.com.au shares these images, some which are undeniably strong and powerful, others which seem much more innocuous.
