Salone del Mobile Milano 2019 swept by in a wash of rainy Italian days, endless walking and a blur of famous, familiar and famously familiar designers and their inspiring collections of work. We were swept along on the journey with Melbourne based interior stylist Nina Provan of NP.CO who ticked the iconic Milan Furniture Fair off her bucket list this year.

1st Dibs Skyhouse Milan.

Located in a 1950’s penthouse apartment with a vista over the spectacular Milano skyline, the 1st Dibs Skyhouse was a veritable trove of floor to ceiling, wall to wall treasures. Literally featuring “the worlds most beautiful things,” in terms of furniture, art and design, this first stop was a deep dive into the week to come.

Studio Pepe’s Manifesto Project for Milano Design Week 2019

Studio Pepe’s Manifesto Project at Salone del Mobile Milano had to be one of my absolute highlights from the whole Design Week. The sensory experience that unfolded in the industrial space was multifaceted and beyond my – already high – expectations. The colours, textures and experimental materiality of the pieces by such an iconic Milan based institution were inspiring, and their ability to have such a strong design identity – even here amongst the best of the best – left a strong impression.

Boffi | De Padova showroom

The vintage styling items at the Boffi | De Padova’s showroom were in such contrast to the renown modern aesthetic of the Boffi brand it’s clear that the decision for the design duo to join forces in 2015 was a great one. The harmony is evident and this, for me, was possibly the best showroom in Milan.

|| Henry Timi Studio

The Henry Timi showroom redefined the residential experience. 3 meter drawers and sinks with no apparent hardware sat alongside sculptural styling items and joinery elements that evoked a heavy presence with their muted tones and natural materiality. This one simply blew my mind.
