While Ancient Greeks and Egyptians had parasols for sun blockage and there’s collapsible umbrella design documented in China as early as 21 A.D, photos captured by Indonesia-based photographer Penkdix Palme show that there may be another contended for the origins of the simple act of holding an object over our heads for shelter.
