You’re invited to High Density Happiness

Open Journal invites you to our High Density Happiness series of panel discussions on the subject of urban fulfillment and how our great city can be developed sustainably.Held at the recently unveiled MPavilion designed by London’s Amanda Levete, we’re thrilled to welcome discussion in the calming setting of the Queen Victoria Gardens.

The first of three sessions within the series, to be held this Wednesday 14 October 2015, will feature Neometro Director James Tutton and Dumbo Feather magazine Community Manager Madeline Lucas on the topic of ‘urban social initiatives’.

“It takes a handful of people, with a passion, to convert an idea into a movement,” Mr Tutton said.

This session will focus on initiatives that encourage collective ownership of inner city communities; the buzz term ‘place making’; and how a sense of family can expand out of the suburban home and into the neighbourhood.

The High Density Happiness series draws upon a University of Western Australia study into maximising the health benefits and minimising the harmful impacts of high density living.

The research conducted by the University of WA gives Neometro — and the wider property development community — a clear template of how to deliver projects that will contribute to a world that is physically, emotionally and environmentally healthy.

It’s our hope that the High Density Happiness speaker series, hosted by Open Journal, will enable both industry and community to engage with the idea of urban fulfillment.
